This role
The Technical Program Manager is responsible to plan requirements to launch and expand PayJoy’s compatibility with OEMs, ushering projects through the entire project lifecycle, include managing project schedules, establishing and managing a thorough testing protocol to ensure on-time release, and include identifying risks and working with external partners to find solutions.
Responsibilities
- Successfully implemented PayJoy’s smartphone technologies with OEMs to launch phones in the market.
- Represent PayJoy in technical collaborations with OEMs, SOCs, and other technical partners.
- Lead technical negotiations with OEMs to help them understand and embrace PayJoy’s technologies.
- Be a successful voice of the OEM internally in collaborations with PayJoy’s Engineering, Product, and Business teams.
- Identify and mitigate risks that may arise on multi-month-long projects across multiple functional areas, both internally and externally.
- Drive projects to completion while managing internal and external communication of project status.
- Assess the quality of releases through testing and monitoring of incoming bugs and code changes to identify quality issues, their root causes, and trends.
- Collaborate with Product Engineers to identify and reproduce issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of industry experience as a program or engineering manager participating in the implementation of large, complex software projects, including first-hand experience writing software, especially in Android firmware level.
- Experience in technically communicating in English (written and verbal). For instance, being able to create architecture diagrams and documents.
- Comfortable flashing devices via flash tools, fastboot, 3rd party tools.
- Proven experience at an OEM or SOC on Android (smartphone) software.
- Experience in passing international, third-party certifications, e.g. Google CTS, SOC-acceptance tests.
