Orbital Materials develops groundbreaking new materials and chemical processes by bridging the worlds of AI and synthetic chemistry. We are hiring a full time Lead Analytical Chemist to work onsite in our newly built laboratory just outside Princeton, NJ.
About the Role
Your duties will include:
Perform chemical and materials analysis of synthesized zeolites and other porous inorganic materials.
Analyze data and present results both internally and externally to partners.
Manage third party analysis vendors to ensure accuracy and on time delivery of data.
Work with our multidisciplinary teams (including computationalists and machine learning researchers) to design analytical methods for new materials.
Help write and role-model safety and experimental procedures.
Qualities that we value include:
Experience managing complex and strategic analysis projects often in fast-paced environments.
Experience in analysis method development on multiple machines including XRD, SEM, XRF, ICP, TGA, gas adsorption, GC.
PhD in Inorganic, Analytical or Materials Chemistry or Materials Science with focus on porous materials analysis and several years in industry.
Additional qualities that will make you stand out as a candidate:
Experience in Direct Air Capture, CO2 Capture, & Gas Separations.
Experience building and managing laboratory Information systems.
Experience with computational chemistry.
